Art for CRY: Update
Written by Editor
14 November 2011

"After a wonderful response from the community of Highland Perthshire, the mini canvases submitted in support of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) will be displayed in Breadalbane Community Campus Library from 24 November to 10 December", reports organiser Hazel Murch.
The canvases are postcard size 5" x 7" and use a wide variety of media - through paint, collage, photograph and pencil to knitting. Everyone who has submitted a work has given permission for their canvas to be sold in aid of CRY for £10, though buyers can, of course, pay more if they would like.
The organisers warmly thank everyone who has contributed in any way to the exhibition. This includes all exhibitors, Aberfeldy Community Council, the Campus leader Mrs Swan, the campus office and the library staff.

Holyrood Launch
The exhibition is timed to coincide with the CRY postcard launch, which takes place on 1 December, in the Scottish Parliament and is hosted by John Swinney MSP.
The CRY postcard includes photographs of 12 young people and is intended to raise awareness of the distressing statistic that 12 apparently fit and healthy young people in the UK die each week of undiagnosed heart condition. It is hoped that the postcard will add weight to the call for cardiac screening to be made available to all young people.
The 'ART for CRY' exhibition opening night is Thursday 24 November from 5-7pm, and everyone is welcome then and/or to call in during library opening times.
