Heartland FM Supports New Music Talent

Heartland FM is looking to recruit a presenter to showcase new talent in Scottish music. The community radio station is aiming to widen the scope of it’s music programming with a new show to give more new and young musicians airplay.
At the moment, The Pulse on Wednesdays 8-9pm, with presenter Stevie, is the place to hear new bands. Next month Stevie’s got new bands, Six Storeys High and Little Fire on the show. The Pulse has a big following, covering Indie and Punk.
Heartland’s station manager, Bruce Patterson thinks there’re more music genres out there, that deserves a place in the station’s schedule.  “Having a show of this type would alert the music industry to what we are doing. We need to find someone who has the interest and is willing to take on the presenting role.”
Not only is he looking for a person to take on the new show, but he’s also keen to put the message out that new bands of all genres can get noticed if they get in touch with Heartland.
Since taking over coverage of Perth from Perth FM, the community radio station has been attracting a bigger, younger audience. Aware of the new, more vibrant demographic, Bruce says it’s time to expand what’s currently being included in The Pulse. “There’s so much happening in the music scene in Perthshire, we want to be the first to get new talent heard.”
