By working closely with PerthshireOnlineTV, Heartland FM, the community owned Highland Perthshire radio service, has entered upon a new era of broadcasting
A new, hour-long programme, ‘Spotlight', produced by PerthshireOnlineTV is now being broadcast on Heartland FM every Tuesday. It features interviews focusing on Perth and the surrounding area.
Going out on radio between 7pm and 8pm, the programme is repeated on Wednesdays 10.00-11.00pm. All the interviews are available through
podcasting after the online and the radio programmes have been aired.
Heartland’s link up with the online TV broadcaster is part of the station’s new commitment to
being more inclusive of events outside Highland Perthshire.

Innovative
Gavin Sime of PerthshireOnlineTV said: “Unlike normal television,
you have complete control over when you choose to watch our shows. The content includes Perthshire people, Perthshire businesses and Perthshire organisations. It’s a very innovative and exciting project for us
to work on.”
There are benefits for both companies, with Heartland FM pointing PerthshireOnlineTV in the direction of events in Highland Perthshire, as well as supplying interviews which can be adapted for presentation on internet television.
Heartland’s Station Manager Bruce Patterson is enthusiastic about new possibilities. “This is the first in what is hoped to be a close working relationship with internet television. It offers listeners the choice of medium and advertisers the chance to
cover all bases,” he reckoned.
Commenting ahead of the launch on 31 January, Bruce said: “People live busy lives these days and now both radio and online TV are available through iPhones and other devices.
“We’re delighted to be joining forces with PerthshireOnlineTV in this project and look forward to raising Perthshire’s profile on a regional, national and global scale.”
