I have been involved with HFM for over 3 years. I more or less fell into the studio after popping in to the studio to meet a friend who had a show at the time. I started to then pop in more often and ended up first assisting, then presenting, the Saturday Live show.
Why? Well it’s great fun, everyone at the station and the listeners are really great. I have learned loads of new skills and it really develops your confidence; it is quite terrifying the first time you stare down the barrel of a microphone!
I’m no expert DJ, but don’t try to be, I just hope I can bring a bit of entertainment whilst I am on air and have a bit of fun along the way.
Highland Perthshire and the surrounding areas are brilliant places to live and work and it gives you a strengthened feeling of community spirit to know you are a part of it.
AND it’s a great conversation starter! I have had a few job interviews and it’s great to have on your CV!
Oh, and my wife loves me doing it, too,…three hours of peace and quiet from me on Saturday afternoons!
