Radio Service Reaches Out

Over the past 12 months there have been a number of changes at Highland Perthshire’s community radio service. A dramatic increase in the number of presenters has brought an increase in the variety of programmes available.
Heartland’s Bruce Patterson told Comment: “This is all very encouraging but we would still like to see more new people coming to join us either as presenters or in other guises.”
“The hardest part is coming through the door,” he admitted, “but after that the training and help that folk get will make everything much easier.”
Bruce pointed out that the radio service is particularly seeking interviewers and those interested in helping to produce more speech-based programming.
He urged anyone interested to make contact on 01796 474040 or by CLOAKING

Bruce continued: “For the past three years we have held our annual Radio and Community Awards. Each year these have grown in popularity.
“These awards are a chance for people to say ‘thank you’ to those that have stood out in the community over the past 12 months. Because they are publicly voted for they are of special significance to those who are nominated.”
Details of how and where to vote will be in the local press and on Heartland’s airwaves on 97.5fm and on its website www.heartlandfm.co.uk
