17-year-old Lauren Murray from Perth is the latest of Heartland FM's young recruits to launch onto the airwaves in the station’s new schedule. Lauren's New Release Show starting on Monday 19 September will go out between 6pm and 7pm.  It concentrates on new music and the the programme will be repeated on Saturdays at 6pm.
Two year's ago Lauren completed a five day work placement at Heartland FM and became the second ‘rookie’ to turn work experience at the station into a regular radio show - the other being 14-year-old Alex Lamond of Breadalbane Academy.
After enjoying her work placement, Lauren (pictured)  ran a regular spot on the station on Wednesdays but she stopped in January this year to put more time into her GCSEs.
Now, with the exams behind her, she’s getting back behind the microphone and she’s excited about her new show.
A student at Perth High School, she likes street dancing, singing and playing the guitar. Her current favourite bands include The Script, Bruno Mars and Rhianna. "I'm passionate about music. There's so much out there, I want to share it.  The best album I've heard recently is the new one by Ed Sheeran."
