Warm Welcome for Winter Words Authors
Written by Editor
30 January 2012

Sir Chris Bonington took to the Pitlochry stage on 28 January to talk about life, the universe and everything in-between but especially the Triumph & Tragedy on the North Wall of the Eiger.
Author of over 17 books and veteran of many historical ascents, Sir Chris Bonington now lectures all over the world. Following a sell-out performance in 2006, Winter Words welcomed back one of the most popular and iconic adventurers of our times.
As a welcoming gift, all the authors at the Festival receive a bottle of Dewar’s Aberfeldy whisky and a gift from the Highland Soap Co.
Pictured here are, from left: Jacqui Seargeant (Global Archive Manager), renowned landscape photographer Colin Prior, Sir Chris Bonington, John Durnin (Chief Executive of Pitlochry Festival Theatre) and Chris and Anne Bartle from Glacier books.
John Durnin thanked Dewar’s, Glacier Books and the Highland Soap Co. for their support of the Winter Word Festival.
